K's Creations Z Lap Stand Review

I am extremely pleased with this lap stand. It holds hoops, scroll frames, and Q-snaps without the dreaded tilt that most universal stands end up having. It's made with 100% hardwoods with exception to the bolts and adjustment knobs. It is very lightweight. I can stitch all day without any fatigue from the stand resting on my lap. The stand can also double as a table stand if you prefer. Putting the stand together is very simple and takes no additional tools. Once loosened the stand folds up for storage.

The clamp holding the frame rotates a full 360 degrees so you can get to the back of your work without having to remove it from the frame. The stand is very adjustable.  There are many ways to change the height and angle so it's perfect for stitching the way you want to stitch.

Stand from Stitchers Point of View with 17x17 Q-Snap

There are a few downsides to the stand, but they are minor. As a single clamp stand larger size hoops/frames/Q-snaps are not stable enough to stitch on. 123Stitch notes that if you want to use anything larger than 20 inches to order K's Creations Original Lap Stand. I used my 17x17 Q-Snap and found it to be a bit, well moody. I will not use anything larger than 17x17 on the stand. The other downside is how tight you have to turn the adjustment knobs to lock the stand in place. I get nervous that I'm going to break one of the adjustment knobs everytime I put a new project in. Something to keep in mind for those with minimal hand strength. Once tightened though your project doesn't budge!
